WarnerMedia, LLC seeks a Lead of Project Management for the Legal department.
Our Legal Operations COE is dedicated to supporting WarnerMedia attorneys across the enterprise. Within this newly designed organization, we are seeking a dynamic leader with a passion for cross-functional collaboration. This team lead plays an important role in operationalizing and delivering on critical company initiatives that impact our legal department and beyond.
The Daily
The Lead of Project Management is a leadership opportunity that will work closely with legal stakeholders at all levels of the company, including the General Counsel’s leadership team. This position assists in the creation of a new organization that requires the ability to create a playbook for a new team to pioneer by setting operating standards and procedures. They will be responsible for directing complex initiatives and be accountable for the results of their program. This is a generalist role that involves managing and supporting projects across the full range of subject matters supported by the legal team. This lead will be responsible for intercepting various strategic initiatives and partnering with their team members to evaluate capability and capacity to deploy. This leader must be able to adapt to changing priorities and business needs and be proactive in identifying areas of need and generating action plans. This lead will be key in creating processes and practices to improve the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the legal team.
The Lead of Project Management will need to have strengths in problem solving and analysis as they will empowered to solve for enterprise-wide challenges and aid in the evolution of the Legal Operations COE strategy. Analytical thinking expertise is required as the lead will need to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve the problems in the best interest of the business. They also need to apply their industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations, while enhancing existing department processes. Additionally, the leader will be expected to ignite innovation and change by challenging the status quo and introducing creative ideas to address business needs. This forward thinker will need to be able to encourage and support others to take smart risks.
This new managerial role will also support business planning and tactical planning items for the organization as we build the Legal Operations COE. The responsibilities include prioritizing critical work tasks for the organization that align with WarnerMedia Legal’s goals and objectives, key strategic legal initiatives and drive and manage key priorities. This role is a member of multiple task forces and process management teams to ensure overall organizational success with the ability to recommend actions to direct the analysis and solutions of problems. This manager communicates to leaders, clients, vendors and employees. In addition, this role supervises various aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects.
The Essentials
• 5+ years of legal experience at a professional level
• Leadership experience managing and developing teams
• An entrepreneurial spirit and passion for working in a dynamic environment
• Strong work ethic and proven ability to multi-task and set priorities
• Exceptional communication, analytical and writing skills
• Ability and desire to work both autonomously but also collaboratively
• College Degree required
• 80% Project Management related tasks
• 20% Strategic Business Planning
